EAT & DRINK AT SÖDERMALM

Firstly, let’s make sure you understand the Swedish word “fika” which means having a coffee together with a pastry or sandwich of your choice. “Fika” you can do at any time of the day and as many times as you like.

There is really no difficulty finding “fika” anywhere in Stockholm, but if you want “fika” with an extraordinary cup of coffee, Drop Coffee across the street and Johan & Nyström just around the corner are your go-to places. They serve coffee imported directly from their selected coffee growers. Drop Coffee is listed under “25 cafe’s you have to visit before you die”. There are also other nice “fika”- places. Just walk around and you will find them at every street.

Since there is quite a lot of shopping and things to do, you will probably get hungry and a “fika” will no longer do the trick. Why not grab a quick lunch at organic and trendy Kalf & Hansen or have what is known to be Stockholm’s best falafel at Falafelbaren.

Surely the whole day has now passed and you are craving a delicious dinner served with a #view for your next Instagram post. Luckily, Södermalm is the proud host of the two restaurants with Stockholm’s most spectacular views, Gondolen and Himlen (which means Heaven, of course!).

For those who would like to enjoy marvelous cocktails, you can either stay at Himlen or we highly recommend you to pay Linje Tio or Morfar Ginko a visit.

For a very good and classic meal we would highly recommend our own Restaurant Glashuset, where you find some memorable Swedish classics, such as Toast Skagen (fresh shrimps from the West Coast on a Toast), Elkburger with Mushroom sauce and mashed potatoes, Reindeer Fillet directly from the Lappish maintains and the fillet of the fish Röding, also fresh from the clear waters of Lapland and counted as one of the best fish dishes.
